WXTV’s Noticias Univision 41 Ranks No.1 in New York

New York, NY – For the 13th consecutive sweep, WXTV’s Noticias Univision 41 (Univision 41 News), the New York area’s premier 6 p.m. evening newscast, is No. 1 among Adults 18-49, regardless of language, ahead of the local ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX affiliates in the market. In addition, Univision Network’s evening news program Noticiero Univision, airing weekdays at 6:30 p.m., is the No. 1 network news program in New York, and Noticias Univision 41 weekdays at 11:00 p.m. is the top ranked late newscast among Adults 18-49, according to the April 2012 sweep results.

WXTV Univision 41 has ranked No. 1 in weekday news from 6 to 7 p.m. since the April 2011 sweep among Adults 18-49, surpassing all newscasts during the hour, regardless of language. This is the first time since Oct. 2009 that WXTV ranked No. 1 in both the 6pm and 11pm newscasts.

  • Anchored by Rafael Pineda and Adriana Vargas, Noticias Univision 41 weekdays at 6 p.m. delivered a first place finish, averaging 98,000 Adult 18-49 viewers.
  • In the 6:30 p.m. network news race, Noticiero Univision with anchors Jorge Ramos and Maria Elena Salinas won averaging 101,000 Adult 18-49 viewers.
  • Noticias Univision 41 with anchors Rafael Pineda and Adriana Vargas, broadcast weekdays at 11:00 p.m. won the late news race among Adult 18-49 averaging 156,000 viewers.
