Telemundo 52 Los Angeles, continues to have the most-watched Spanish-language newscast in the market
Miramar, FL – At the close of the May 2016 Sweeps Period, the Telemundo Station Group announced that several of its local-owned stations continued to have the most-watched local newscasts in any language and among Spanish-language stations.
Specifically, Telemundo 51 Miami / WSCV, South Florida’s local news leader, had the most-watched afternoon and late local newscasts, in any language among all three demographic groups: Adults 18 to 34, Adults 18 to 49 and Adults 25 to 54. Telemundo 51 also outperformed all other local stations in the market, regardless of language, during Early Fringe and Primetime among various demographic groups.
Telemundo Phoenix / KTAZ repeated its strong performance from April 2016 and had the most-watched local newscast at 10 PM, among all three demographic groups. KTAZ’s 10 PM local newscast has been the most-watched in the market among Adults 18 to 49, for the past 10 out of 14 months. In Denver, Telemundo Denver / KDEN outperformed all local competitors in the market, regardless of language, and had the most-watched local newscasts at 4:30 PM and 5 PM, among Adults 18 to 34.
Telemundo 52 Los Angeles / KVEA, continued to have the most-watched Spanish-language local newscast in the 6 AM time period, for the fifth consecutive month among Adults 18 to 34. KVEA also had the second-most-watched newscast at 11 PM, in any language, among Adults 18 to 34, Adults 18 to 49, and Adults 25 to 54.
In Texas, Telemundo Houston / KTMD and Telemundo 39 Dallas-Fort Worth / KXTX had the second most-watched local newscasts in their respective markets at 10 PM, regardless of language, among Adults 18 to 34. In New York, Telemundo 47 New York / WNJU, also had the second most-watched late local newscast at 11 PM, among Adults 18 to 34. WNJU also repeated its April 2016 performance at 11 PM, and had the most-watched Spanish-language newscast in that time period among Adults 25 to 54.
