Pasadena, CA – NHMC makes Hollywood history on March 27, 2013 as the only Latino advocacy group to bring together three heads of U.S. TV networks to discuss the climate of broadcast television and the importance of Latino inclusion on all levels of media. Nina Tassler, the chairman of entertainment at CBS, who is also the first Latina to head a network, Jennifer Salke, the president of entertainment at NBC, and Paul Lee, the president of entertainment at ABC, will participate in a keynote session presented at the National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) MediaCon at the Hilton Universal City Hotel on Thursday, March 27, 2014.
In the keynote roundtable session moderated by NHMC President & CEO Alex Nogales, the network heads of entertainment will discuss the changing climate in broadcast television and what is in store for the future. They will also address the importance of diversity and the networks’ efforts to include more Latinos, other people of color, and women both in front and back of camera.
“Including the diversity of the American cultural fabric is not only the right thing to do, but it is also good for business,” said Nogales. “Audiences expect to see themselves and their neighbors reflected in media-and NHMC is proud to have a good working relationship with these executives and their networks, to help bring about diversity both in front and back of camera.”
