Open Auditions for Four Hilarious Menopausal Characters on Aug. 3 & 6
New Production of International Musical Hit Opens in Hollywood Oct. 11
HOLLYWOOD, CA — Spanish-speaking women who have always dreamed of performing live on stage in a hit musical are invited to an open audition for the new production of Menopausia El Musical® on Saturday August 3 and Tuesday, August 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the historic Ricardo Montalbán Theatre, located in the heart of Hollywood at 1615 Vine Street. Audition lines begin at 9 a.m., both days, and the auditions will be first come, first serve. There will also be an open call for EQUITY actors on Monday, August 5th, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Produced by award-winning GFour Productions, Menopausia El Musical®, the Spanish-language version of the 12 year (and running) international hit, Menopause The Musical®, is seeking Spanish-speaking actresses 35 to 55 years old to play four characters in the live musical production. The auditions are open to the public and no prior experience, union affiliation, or memorized auditions are required. All participants will be asked to present a comedic monologue and two up-tempo pop or musical theatre songs, one in Spanish.
Participants are also encouraged to bring their family and friends to cheer them on from the audience.

“This is a great opportunity for women who have always wanted to be on stage to appear in this production that has delighted audiences in more than 15 countries for 12 years,” said casting director Orlette Ruiz of Mambo Casting. “We want to reach out in the community to see if there is undiscovered talent in the form of mature women with big personalities who can sing, dance and have a lot of fun on stage to join us in this new Spanish-language version of the show.”
Menopausia El Musical®, set in a department store, tells the story of four women with nothing in common but a black lace bra and memory loss, hot flashes, night sweats, not enough sex, too much sex and much more. The hilarious musical parody is set to 25 classic tunes from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s that gets the audience cheering and dancing in the aisles.
Preview performances begin on October 11 and the production is scheduled to run for four weeks only. Show times will be at 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, with a Saturday matinee at 3 p.m., and 5 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
