Theater Auditions in Pharr,Texas for YERMA by Garcia Lorca,March 12 and 13.
The Pharr Community Theater will have open auditions for the two act play YERMA by Federico Garcia Lorca. The Spanish language version is to be directed by Pedro Garcia and Eduardo Martinez. Needed are 15 women and 5 men ranging in ages 18 to 70, and two young girls, ages 9 to 12. Auditions will be cold reading from the script and will be held March 12 and 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. inside the Pharr Literacy Project, 203 W Newcombe (formerly Park Ave.) Everyone is welcome to try out. Rehearsals will begin Monday, March 19 and run throughout May. Performances will be held May 10 through May 20 in Pharr and will also tour other valley cities the remainder of May and parts of June before closing.

YERMA (Brief synopsis)
Yerma and her husband have been attempting to have children for some time to no avail, and when a local wise woman confides in her that it may have something more to do with Yerma’s husband than with the eager mother-to-be, Yerma’s growing resentment toward her spouse causes her to consider seducing Victor, the town shepherd. When her morals force her to abandon her plan, Yerma’s internal conflict soon begins to take its toll on her mental health.
CASTING CALL FOR FEATURE FILM “ENDGAME” TO BE PRODUCED IN THE VALLEY
Casting Call and auditions for the upcoming feature film “ENDGAME” will take place on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 10am to 4pm at the Mc Allen Chamber of Commerce, 1200 Ash Avenue, Mc Allen TX, 78501.
“ENDGAME”, written, produced and directed by Hector Salinas, will be conducting auditions for people between the ages of 5 to 65 to fill all the twenty speaking roles, featured extras and extras that are needed to fill the roles for this ambitious project.
“ENDGAME” is a Late Bloomer Production. The story involves an eleven year-old boy who is struggling to deal with his family’s problems and his own personal failures, while he attempts to excel unsuccessfully in soccer, his one true passion. He must endure the death of his older brother and the possible deportation of his best friend. He reluctantly joins the school chess team and finally discovers an unmatched ability. This success helps him overcome some of his hardships and he unexpectedly finds himself in the process.
The budget for this movie will exceed $600k and auditions for the twenty (20) speaking roles in the movie have already been scheduled for March 31, 2012. Bring your 8″ x 10″ headshot and resume.
