NUVOtv and Jennifer Lopez’s “The Collective” Weekly Music Series Premieres March 6th


 Hosts Mike Catherwood, Nina Terrero ready to rock and roll it out with NUVO tv’s  exciting new production, The Collective, Powered by Vevo.

The online platform Vevo, known for its library of music videos has teamed with NUVOtv and Jennifer Lopez to co-produce the unscripted series dubbed The Collective, Powered by Vevo. The show will star Mike Catherwood, one of Southern California’s most influential radio personalities and Nina Terrero, who is one of pop culture’s leading Latina voices as a correspondent for Entertainment Weekly. Both will headline as they feature DJs and celebrities talking about their favorite pop culture trends. The Collective premieres on NUVOtv, Thursday, March 6 at 8PM Eastern and 5PM Pacific time. And, folks, NUVOtv is an English-language cable channel!

What makes The Collective unique is that it is combining music, style and technology and after each episode, will stream exclusively on Vevo’s website and its slate of mobile, tablet and TV apps.

“When it comes to music videos, Vevo has become the world’s gold standard, making them the perfect partner for NUVOtv as we expand our original entertainment offerings in the music space,” said NUVOtv executive vp programming Bill Hilary.

One of the featured DJs will be  radio personality La Comadre “RaqC” and has this to say:

Vevo, a joint venture of Sony Music, Universal Music Group, Google and Abu Dhabi Media, has a library of 75,000 HD music videos. It also produces original content and video of live concert performances.

“Creating original programming that is distributed through digital and traditional broadcast channels is an important focus for Vevo this year,” said Vevo senior vp content and programming Doug McVehil.

The Collective, Powered by Vevo is one of four new shows that will premiere on NUVOtv in the first half of 2014. A second wave of shows is expected later in the year. The Collective is a series that is part of NUVOtv’s spring programming slate and co-executived produced by Lopez, who has partner with the cable channel as its chief creative officer, under her Nuyorican Productions banner.

Vevo, the biggest single supplier of content to YouTube, generates 5 billion monthly views globally across YouTube, and its apps. The company offers a library of 75,000 music videos, plus original programming and live concert performances.

 The Collective premieres on NUVOtv, Thursday, March 6 at 8PM Eastern and 5PM Pacific time.
