FOX’S “Teen Choice 2006” Nominees List Peppered with Latinos

Longoria, Alba, Bledel, Shakira, Daddy Yankee, Valderrama, Jorge Garcia, Amaury Nolasco Among Nominees

TEEN CHOICE 2006 will air live for the first time on Sunday, Aug. 20 (8:00-10:00 PM ET Live/PT Tape-Delayed) on FOX, following an advance look at the glitz and glamour of the event during a hot red carpet special Sunday, Aug. 20 (7:30–8:00 PM ET Live/PT Tape-Delayed).

On TEEN CHOICE 2006, the coolest stars will receive coveted Teen Choice Surfboard awards in categories such as Choice Chick Flick, Choice TV Sidekick, Choice Hottie (Male and Female), Choice Comedian and Choice Rock Group.

Included in this list of the “coolest stars” are Eva Longoria who shows up in the Choice TV Actress: Comedy Award, competing against Alexis Bledel Gilmore Girls, Jaime Pressly of My Name is Earl; Mila Kunis,of That ‘70s Show; Raven Symone of That’s So Raven and Tichina Arnold of Everybody Hates Chris. Longoia, a high contender for this award.

Longoria has a little more competition in the Choice Hottie Award category, a “hot” list that includes Jessica Alba (who is also nominated in the Choice Movie Actress: Action/Drama Adventure for Fantastic Four), Jessica Simpson, Scarlett Johansson, Rachel Bilson, and Rihanna.

As for the Latino men, Wilmer Valderrama is on the nominee list for Choice TV Actor Award for his role in That ‘70’s Show (and you can also count his show Yo Mama which is up for Choice TV Reality Show). In the category of Choice TV SideKick Amuary Nolasco of Prison Break competes with Jorge Garcia of Lost and Allison Mack of Smallville, Vincent Martella of Everybody Hates Chris, Donald Faison of Scrubs, and Percy Daggs, III of Veronica Mars

On the music end Daddy Yankee is on the Choice Music: Male Artist nominee list and Shakira who is on two list, Choice Music: Female Artist and Choice Music: Single for Hips Don’t Lie.

All in all not a bad showing.

From now until Friday, Aug. 11, teens ages 13 through 19 can vote for the hottest celebrities in film, television, music, sports and fashion for TEEN CHOICE 2006.

As the polls heat up over the summer, Wave Two of the ballot will launch on July 6, followed by Wave Three on July 27. Teens can continue to vote on Waves One, Two and Three through Friday, Aug. 11.
