Filmed in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the 13-part drama series follows the cat-and-mouse game between a police officer (Julio Chávez) who is looking for a reason to live and a psychotic serial killer (Antonio Birabent) bent on revenge, who has found a reason to kill. Epitafios is written by twin brothers Walter Slavich and Marcelo Slavich.
Epitafios is HBO Latin America's first fictional dramatic series written and filmed in Latin America, by Latin Americans, for the Latin American audience. A suspense story inside a love story, the series is presented in Spanish with English subtitles. Epitafios made its TV premiere on HBO Latin America in August 2004 and is currently airing on HBO Latino and HBO On Demand.
Cast regulars include Julio Chávez as Renzo Márquez; Paola Krum as Laura Santini; Antonio Birabent as Bruno Costas; Cecilia Roth as Marina Segal; Luis Luque as Commisioner Jiménez, David Masajnik as Martin and Villanueva Cosse as Marcos Márquez. The directors are Jorge Nisco and Alberto Lecchi.
