‘Noches Con Platanito,’ Spanish Language TV’s Only Late Night Talk Format, Premieres Season 17 on Estrella TV

BURBANK, CA - February 13, 2017 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) - Estrella TV, the fastest growing, minority owned Spanish language television network in the U.S. announced that it has premiered the 17th season of its critically acclaimed late night talk format show “Noches Con Platanito.”

Hosted by one of Mexico’s most beloved and popular comedians Sergio Verduzco, “Noches Con Platanito” is the only nightly hour-long program of its kind in Spanish language television. The primetime show’s new season premiered January 30th and will run until March 1st with a total of 18 episodes. The show airs Monday through Friday at 9PM/8PM C on the Estrella TV network.

“Noches Con Platanito” has been a consistent hit show and audience favorite for Estrella TV, and one of its most popular entertainment programs among the coveted young Hispanic demographic. According to Nielsen ratings(1), the one-hour show has seen significant growth among Hispanic Millennials and young adults as evidenced during the period of September 19, 2016- January 31, 2017 vs. the same period in 2015 and 2016. The spike occurred in the following key demos: Adults 18-24 +44%, Adults 18-34 +19%, Adults18-49 +19% and Adults 25-54 +17%.

In various key markets across the U.S., the show has outpaced the competition on more than one occasion in its timeslot and recently was the #1 rated program across adult demos in Los Angeles, according to a Nielsen Ratings report for February 7, 2017(2). “Noches Con Platanito” beat Univision by 53% with a 2.6 rating among Adults 18-49, Telemundo by 50% with a 2.1 rating among Adults 18-34, and also beat all its competitors in the Adults 25-54 demographic with a 3.2 rating against Univision (2.3 rtg.), Telemundo (1.5 rtg.) and Unimas and Azteca (0.7 rtg.) during the 9PM time slot.

Now in its 17th season, “Noches Con Platanito” continues to feature a wide variety of celebrity guests from both general market and Spanish language programs.
