LOS ANGELES, CA - October 3, 2016 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) - With the recent released of his musical video “Cancelada de Mi Vida”, The Great Martín Elías, son and musical heir to the vallenato legend Diomedes Díaz, received the nomination for the Latin Grammys in the category of Best Album Cumbia/Vallenato for his album "Imparables." This project was done at the R8 Sound studios in the city of Valledupar, being produced by Rolando Ochoa and with the musical direction of Marlon Escobar.

The CD "Imparables" has proven to be a big hit through its four singles that have reached the first positions at radio stations in Colombia: "Loco por tu amor", "El Latigo", "Mi ex" written by Omar Geles and "Cancelada de mi vida" written by Rolando Ochoa, with a video of latter having been officially released last Tuesday, September 27, where Martín Elias is acting for the first time, becoming the main character in his new audiovisual production.

With his songs, Martín Elías captivates audiences who feel and see in them a nice way to fall in love, dedícate and share them with others through the vallenato folklore, which is kept alive for every generation as he lights up every stage where he performs, always with the attitude of being “The Heir.”

From de beginning of his career he has earned awards and been recognized for his talent. His first productions with the group "La familia de Diomedes" from 2001 to 2004 encouraged him to develop his career as a soloist accompanied by the accordion player Fernando Rangel, with whom he participated in the juvenile category of the important Festival de la Leyenda Vallenata in its 38th edition and won the first place.

He then established a fundamental connection with the accordion player Rolando Ochoa with whom he recorded four albums, among them "El Terremoto", a record that features one of his most successful songs called "Abrete." This album earned him great recognition in his country thanks to the unique style of each song and because of his explosive performance on stage. Later on, Martín Elías availed himself of the opportunity to explore and search for softer and more romantic sounds together with the accordion player Juancho de la Espriella with whom he produced 2 albums.

Sales of his albums earned him 3 Gold and 1 Platinum Record, as well as a Honorific Mention conferred by the Congress of the Republic in 2013, appointing him as the “Ambassador of the New Era of Vallenato Music.”

In 2015, Martín Elías returns to his original duet with Rolando Ochoa on this new album "Imparables." This earns him his first nomination for the Latin Grammy in his career as a soloist as well as a recognition that he has worked very hard to achieve. His father, Diomedes Diaz, the great “Cacique de la Junta,” winner of the Latin Grammy in the same category in 2010, who named him “The Great Martin Elias,” announced his success when he said that he would win the next Grammy of the family.

"[Some time ago] My dad gave me a big hug and whispered in my ear that I would win the next Grammy of the family, something that at the time seemed almost out of reach because I was just starting out in music; but, oh well, many years have already passed, I’ve done things right, and today I believe I am close to reaching it,” stated Martín Elías to El Heraldo De Colombia, on the day the nominations were announced, September 21.

The 17th Latin Grammy Award ceremony will take place on November 17 in Las Vegas, NV, and will be broadcasted live in the U.S. on the Univision network.
