An evening of honoring Latino talent, great music, lots of laughs and fashion at the ALMA Awards taped on June 1, 2007 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and airing on June 5.
LALIFF Spotlights and Celebrates Latino Filmmakers
The Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival delivered ten days of films, fun and outstanding filmmakers which took place at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood from October 5 - 15th. Attending througout the festival were some of Hollywood's more establish talent as well as the young up and comers.
2006 Imagen Awards
On August 18, 2006 The 21st Annual Imagen Awards were held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hill. Co-founders Helen Hernandez and Norman Lear were host to a star-studded event that included Antonio Banderas, Melanie Griffith, Andy Garcia, Edward James Olmos, Constance Marie, Lupe Ontiveros, Michael Pena, Mario Lopez and host Lorenzo Llamas among others.
NCLR Conference Spotlights Latino Hollywood
This past July, the NCLR held its annual conference in Los Angeles and turned its spotlight on Latino Hollywood. Invited to participate on panel discussions, MCing a luncheon or performing for their constituants, Latino producers, actors, comedians, writers and other filmmakers were on hand throughout the conference.
Water and Power Opening Day Reception Water & Power, opened to a standing ovation on August 6, 2006 at the Mark Taper Forum in L.A. Celebrating and enjoying the mojitos and the pass around mini chevice tostadas were Jose Luis Valenzuela, Evelina Fernandez, Lupe Ontiveros, Sal Lopez, Jaime Gomez,Tony award winner Sara Ramirez now a regular on Grey's Anatomy; Carlos Gomez now on CBS' Shark. A perfect Sunday opening performance day!
Latin Palooza DVD Release Party
Laughing it up at the Aqua Lounge in Beverly Hill on July 11, 2006 for the DVD release party were the featured funny men headed by Joey Media, Willie Barcena, Mike Robles, Alex Reymundo and Darren Carter as well as fiends, family and fellow comedians. The evenging was sponsored by REScomm Financial.
