“Searching For Sugar Man” Wins PGA for Best Producer of Docu

Searching SM

Hollywood, CA– Congratulations to all the PGA Awards winners! Among them is Searching For Sugar Man, a documentary tracking the journey about a journalist from South Africa trying to find out how singer/songwriter Sixto Rodriguez aka “Rodriguez” died. Rodriguez was a huge legend in South African during the worst of times in the 70’s and 80’s… a civil unrest called Apartheid where a system of racial segregation was enforced through the government.

Searching For Sugar Man finds out that Rodriguez is in fact alive and well and what happened after their meeting is nothing more than a miracle or a serendipity of a journalist curiosity. Rodriguez was famous and a bigger legend than Elvis or the Rolling Stones in South Africa, and the Mexican-American singer had no idea.
