“Pushing Dreams” Premieres Feb. 5th at NYC’s Anthology Film Archives

Partially funded by The National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts, the screening will take place at the legendary Anthology Film Archives on Tuesday February 5th, 2013 from 7:00PM – 9:00PM.

Bronx, NY – HollyHood Productions, Inc. will host a screening of their ground-breaking urban dramatic series, Pushing Dreams, that Antionette Zel, the CEO of Robert Rodriguez’ El Rey Network referenced by saying, “We are looking for content, for amazing stories from creators like Adel L. Morales.

This series which was partially funded by The National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts and can be seen on Tuesday, February 5th, 2013, at New York City’s renowned Anthology Film Archives located at 32 Second Avenue, New York, New York, (off of 2nd Street) from 7:00pm – 9:00pm. Pushing Dreams focuses on the struggles and successes of the three founders of a fledgling film production company, who live check-to-check in the Bronx, as they navigate the deceptive waters of the independent filmmaking world, while struggling with the demands of work and family. With nine more episodes written for Pushing Dreams, this series is ready for network distribution, but is also prepared to create a place for itself among the ever-expanding audiences on the Internet as a dramatic series.

HollyHood Productions, Inc. is an independent Bronx film production company, founded in 2004 by Adel L. Morales, Julio Antonio Toro, and Frankie Villanueva. They have won several awards for their various short films and their latest short film, Promises, Promises was screened at The Big Apple Film Festival last November.

Pushing Dreams Writer/Director, Adel L. Morales ended his career as a high school English teacher once he was accepted into the NYU Grad School Film Program and just completed his first semester of studies at the Tisch School of the Arts. Bronx born and bred, Adel received his B.A. in English Literature from Pace University and his M.A. in English from Lehman College/ CUNY. Adel, already a SAG member, became the President of the New York Chapter of The National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) in 2008 and in 2011 appeared in the critically-acclaimed feature film Gun Hill Road starring Esai Morales. Recently, he wrote, directed, and produced his first film shot on Super 16mm, titled Have Knot.
