“Real Women Have Curves”: Book Signing, Screening, Q&A Panel Session

WHO:   The American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theatre and the International Film Festival (LALIFF) co-present an evening celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the award-winning film, Real Women Have Curves, which stars America Ferrera, Lupe Ontiveros, George Lopez, Ingrid Oliu, Soledad St. Hilaire, Julia Vera and Sandie Torries.

WHAT: Josefina Lopez, the creator of the plan and co-screenwriter of the film, will kick off the evening by signing copies of her book “Real Women Have Curves And Other Plays.” Next, a special screen of the film, followed by a panel Q&A with Lopez, director Patricia Cardoso, producers Marilyn R. Atlas and Effie Brown and cast members Ingrid Oliu, Soledad St. Hilaire, Julia Vera, Sandie Torres, and others to be announced.

WHEN & WHERE:   Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the American Cinemtheque at The Egyptian Theatre, 6712 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, CA  90028.

Event Time Breakdown:

Book Signing is at 6:30 PM

Film Screening is at 7:30 PM

Q&A Panel is immediately after the film ends.

Tickets are $11 each for General Admission; $9 for Seniors (65 and over) and Students with current I.D. and $7 for American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theatre Members.  The Box Office opens one and half hour before the first program of the day/evening and closes 30 minutes after the last film of the evening begins.

WHY: The screening is a tribute to the late actress Lupe Ontiveros, who passed away on July 26, 2012.  Josefina López will also announce details about a new scholarship she is establishing in memory of her late friend and colleague, Lupe Ontiveros.
