Mr. Martinez serves as TeleVision columnist and Features Editor for Latin Heat Entertainment and and Latin Heat Online. In addition to being with Latin Heat for over eight years Julio is also an entertainment critic for Daily Variety and The Daily News. He is also a frequent contributor to DIRECTV's The Guide, Written By Magazine, L. A. Stage Magazine, Backstage West, and other publications. He is a member of both the Television Critics Association and the Los Angeles Drama Critics Association.

Julio hosts the weekly Arts in Review program (Thursdays, noon to 12:30 p.m.) on Pacifica Radio's Los Angeles affiliate KPFK 90.FM. Prior to embarking on a career in journalism, Julio Martinez worked for over 20 years as a guitarist, arranger and music director, performing with such artists as Al Jarreau, Sarah Vaughn, Helen Reddy and Linda Dangcil.
